Exciting times are here for customers of Nokia, world leader in mobility solutions and services. The Finish mobile device maker, last week, commissioned a new care centre in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre. The new Nokia care centre located in Victoria Island, Lagos, would offer first-rate after sales service with a team of experts who are always ready to provide consumers with technical advice on how to protect their data and mobile devices while guiding them on how to fully maximise the features and services available on their Nokia devices.
The new Nokia care centre would also be participating in the Nokia “Take Back” scheme, a global programme which encourages mobile phone users to return old, broken and unused devices for recycling. Up to 80 per cent of a genuine Nokia mobile phone could be recycled and the rest, mainly plastics, could be used to fuel the recycling process, ensuring that nothing is wasted. It is also in response to Nokia’s growing customer base and consumer needs in Nigeria hence, it is expected to add strength to the already heavy presence the company has in Lagos as well as other major cities in Nigeria like Abuja and Port Harcourt, among others.
Silvin Sinan, head of Care, Nokia West Africa, explained that the commissioning of the new centre further proves Nokia’s commitment to its Nigerian and West African customers. “We have always put the customer at the heart of our operations and this move further increases the access they have to quality Nokia customer care in the event that they have any issues with their devices or require assistance with any Nokia services.
Sinan pointed out that a key benefit of the opening of the care centre for customers is the fact that they would enjoy the 12-month warranty that comes with all genuine Nokia devices and accessories purchased through authorised outlets.“ This guarantees your phone for the initial year after purchase and customers can receive support at all our Nokia care centres,” he said.
Kola Osinowo, customer care manager, Nokia West Africa, said: “The ‘Take Back’ scheme is part of our larger commitment to contributing positively to the future. Just recently we took part in the 2nd Lagos Climate Change Summit with representatives from all levels of government. We feel it is part of our responsibility not only to the Nigerian government but also to the Nigerian people; it forms the core of any business that seeks to be sustainable.”
Nokia is reputed for combining advanced technology with personalised services that enable users to stay close to what matters to them. Makers of the device say each day, more than 1.2 billion people connect to one another with a Nokia device — from mobile phones to advanced smart-phones and high-performance mobile computers.
